Dogs

We love our dogs!  Aren’t they the best?

Nothing like walking or hiking along the lake with our best buddies!

BUT…  Not all dogs are welcomed or liked by other people who share the lakefront.  TLRA Board & Members are asking that you be a courteous and responsible dog (animal) owner by following the guidelines and requirements.

1.  The rule along the lake is that ALL dogs be on leash OR unless under voice command.  Voice command means that the dog obeys on first command.    It does not mean that the dog comes when it wants to, or responds after several (or many) call outs.  This is a solid requirement if you want your dog off line.  People can and will call Animal Control if there are issues.  so…

Dogs MUST be on LEASH or under VOICE CONTROL.

Please call Animal Control at (970) 226-3647 or Larimer County Sheriff (970) 498-5100 for violators.  Photographs or videos of incidents and names of owners in violation can be helpful to animal control.

.
Too many fights, hurt animals wild and otherwise are being reported.  Did you know that dogs killing geese, goslings is illegal?  Yep.  Geese are protected by state law.

Not all people want their dogs interacting with yours, or have their dogs jump on other dogs playing.  Large dogs can unintentionally hurt smaller dogs by just playing.

Let’s keep Terry Lake a fun and safe place for our pets too!
